Thick blanket of fog continues to engulf parts of country

Dense fog has continued to paralyse daily routine in parts of country including Sindh and Punjab.
Traffic flow on Motorway remained affected by the high intensity of fog at morning time as drivers found it difficult to move due to less visibility. Special instructions were also issued for travelers by Motorway police.
The flight schedule in Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad got affected by the weather condition while trains also faced delay in their operations.
Meanwhile, high transmission lines at Guddu Tharmal Power station tripped, causing load shedding in Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Sukkur and Quetta.
On the other hand, at least two people were killed in differed fog-related incidents in the country.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Dense foggy/smoggy conditions are expected over plain areas of Punjab and foggy over central and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh while smog and fog will be eliminated only after rainfall.
