Mobile Service to be Suspended on 12 Rabi ul Awal in Sindh

Mobile phone services will be suspended in Sindh’s major cities on the eve of 12th Rabiul Awwal to avert any untoward incident.
The Sindh government had approached the Federal Interior Ministry, requesting for the suspension of cell phone and internet services on Friday (tomorrow), the day when people will celebrate Eid milad ul Nabi (PBUH).
According to the secretary of Sindh Interior Ministry, the telecom services will not be available in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Mirpurkhas from 8:00am to 8:00 pm.
It is worth mentioning that section 144 had already been imposed in Sindh that banned the exhibition of weapons, however the ban on pillion riding was still undecided.
Section 144 prohibits public gatherings of five or more people, processions, rallies in any public place within the limits of the area where the law has been imposed.
Section 144 is often imposed in various cities during the month of Muharram and on occasions like New Year’s Eve to prevent large gatherings.
Eid Miladun Nabi (SAWS) will be celebrated tomorrow with religious zeal and fervor across the country.
The day will dawn with thirty-one gun salute in the federal capital and twenty-one gun salutes in all the provincial capitals to pay homage to the last Prophet [SAWS].
The government of Sindh has declared December 1 public holiday on account of Jashan-e-Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH).
