Providing clean water to Karachiites is Sindh govt’s duty: CJP

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday has said that it’s a duty of Sindh government to ensure clean water to its citizens.
During proceedings of a case pertaining to water pollution at sea side, CJP said that the court is ready to hear the case until mid night as it’s a serious matter.
He said that water commission identified the issues and their reasons but Sindh government didn’t raise any objection, adding chief minister was also summoned to provide time frame in this regard.
Poisonous water from factories is being mixed in canals and rivers, he remarked.
Justice Saqib further pledged to resolve the clean water issue across the country at any cost. Why Karachi has become a heap of garbage, he asked.
CJP said that the water being supplied in bottles is unhygienic.
Meanwhile, he also got briefing from advocate general about the development work in Karachi.
