Dr Shahid Masood’s news is utterly false: Punjab govt

While terming Masood’s allegations a figment of him, Khan stated that State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) thoroughly scrutinized local and international data and didn’t find any account linked to prime accused in Zainab murder case.
Khan stated that joint investigation team (JIT) summoned Dr. Masood twice but he failed in registering an appearance.
“Counterfeit details linked to Imran s bank accounts (prime accused in Zainab murder case) were produced. Both SBP and JIT have submitted their findings in this regard”, spokesperson told attendants.
“Punjab govt has served legal notice to Dr. Shahid Masood on hurling false allegations whereas the ministers (framed by Dr. Shahid Masood in his fragmented news piece) holds right of legal action against him”, Khan added.
Meanwhile, JIT—constituted to probe Zainab murder case—has summoned Dr. Shahid Masood again on Jan-26.
Earlier, SBP submitted a report submitted to the Punjab cabinet’s sub-committee on Friday stating that Imran Ali, has no bank account registered on his name.
The report was reviewed in a meeting attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Interiior Azam Suleman, Special Branch and other high officials.
In his response, Dr Shahid Masood said he has revealed the news but it is not his responsibility to conduct investigation into the matter.
At sometimes, news can be false, it is not a big issue, he added.
