Kohat student murder: Police arrest man accused of aiding Mujahidullah’s escape

Police on Friday arrested a man accused of assisting the escape of Mujahidullah Afridi, prime suspect in the murder of Kohat’s medical student.
The suspect identified as Shahzeb is a close friend of Afridi and conducted recce of the victim Asma Rani. According to District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat Abbas Majeed, the suspect is a taxi driver and a resident of Kohat Development Authority (KDA). He allegedly aided Mujahidullah Afridi in escaping and fleeing out of the country after Asma s murder.
The arrest came after the identification of Afridi’s brother, Sadiqullah who was detained on Tuesday. Shahzeb was later produced before a judicial magistrate and handed over to police on one-day physical remand.
During a previous press conference, the DPO had confirmed claims that Mujahidullah fled to Saudi Arabia soon after committing the crime. He asserted that a red warrant has been issued against him and interpol has been contacted in the matter.
