Nawaz Sharif to address rally in Sheikhupura today

Former prime minister and president of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) will address a public gathering in Sheikhupura today.
Party officials said the rally, being organised at the Company Bagh, features more than 5,000 chairs.
The PML-N chief is expected to reach the venue around 2pm by road.
Earlier, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Senator Pervaiz Rasheed visited Sheikhupura to review arrangements for the rally. They were also accompanied by State Interior Minister Tallal Chaudhry.
Talking to the media, Rasheed claimed that today’s gathering will be the biggest rally in Sheikhpura’s history.
The rally is being held in the electoral constituency of Javid Latif.
All four National Assembly seats of Sheikhupura, located around an hour’s drive from Lahore, were clinched by the PML-N in the last general elections.

In a rally in Lodhran on Saturday (yesterday), Nawaz said decisions are made by the voter’s thumb not the umpire’s finger.
The PML-N leader said he has come to the city to congratulate the people for the recent victory of his party in the by-election against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Ali Tareen.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif told the crowd in Lodhran that the voters had dismissed the arrogance of PTI Chairperson Imran Khan as he had claimed prior victory in the NA-154 by-poll.
Nawaz’s daughter Maryam and Shehbaz’s son Hamza, an MNA from Lahore, were also present on the stage during the rally.
