Lahore Qalandars off to a flying start against Islamabad United

Lahore Qalandars started off on an aggressive note as usual after Islamabad United won the toss and elected to field in today’s first Pakistan Super League (PSL) match.
Fakhar Zaman unleashed some quick boundaries, helped along by Kiwi batsman Anton Devcich, in for Umar Akmal.
Fakhar’s bold cameo ended at 34 when JP Duminy had him caught behind, with Lahore at 56-1 (6.4 overs).
With the harsh memory of losing to Islamabad United in this season’s most thrilling encounter last week, Lahore Qalandars will look to avenge their defeat and end their losing streak.
In a nail-biting match that went all the way down to a Super Over, Islamabad held their nerve to come out at the right side of the match. Looking much more confident since, the Misbah-led team is now at 4th position on the points table, with 3 wins and 2 losses so far.
Lahore’s nightmarish run, however, continues. The team has lost all five of its matches so far, drawing the fans’ ire for some inexplicable judgment calls that have only extended its woes in the tournament.
