DG ISPR refutes meetings between Gen Bajwa and Shahbaz Sharif

The Inter Services Public Relations on Monday denied reports about a meeting between Chief of Army Staff General Qammar Javed Bajwa and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The military’s press wing took exception to the reports by the media that the army chief met with the PML-N president twice in the last 72 hours, and strongly refuted that any meeting took place.
“News about meeting of Army Chief with CM Punjab twice during last 72 hours being reported by a media house is baseless and highly irresponsible. No such meeting has taken place,” said a statement by DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor.
He further stated that the reports was baseless and highly irresponsible. It may be mentioned that an anchorperson had claimed on social media site Twitter that the army chief held two separate meetings with Shahbaz Sharif.
