Lalu Prasad Sentenced To Seven Years In Prison

Former chief Minister of India’s state of Bihar Lalu Prasad was on Saturday sentenced to seven years in prison following his conviction in the fourth fodder scam case.
According to Indian media reports, on Monday, a CBI special court in Ranchi had pronounced Lalu guilty in the Rs 3.13 crore Dum.Hearing in this fourth fodder scam case was wrapped up on March 5 but the judgment was repeatedly delayed as Lalu filed several pleas. In addition to Jagannath Mishra, 29 others, including former IAS officers and animal husbandry officials, were also accused in the case.
Lalu has already been found guilty by a special CBI court and sentenced to prison terms in three other fodder scam cases. This fourth case is to do with fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the treasury of Dumka, which is now in Jharkhand, but was in Bihar when Lalu was chief minister.
