Nisar’s meeting with PTI leaders have ‘no basis in truth’: spokesperson

Rumours regarding former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan’s plans to join the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) were strongly refuted by a statement released by the party’s media cell on Monday.
The PTI media cell in its statement today rejected reports that PTI leaders had held any meetings with Nisar and stated that the news had “no basis in truth”.
The party’s spokesperson also turned down speculations regarding plans of future meetings between Nisar and the PTI leadership.
In his statement, the spokesperson said that the PTI chief had returned to his home after spending his day at party membership camps that had been set up in Rawalpindi. PTI’s former secretary general Jahangir Tareen had also “spent a busy day” alongside Khan. Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is currently at this residence in Multan, had not met Nisar either, the statement insisted.
It also cautioned against reporting news “based on unconfirmed and incomplete information”.
Though the statement denied the occurrence of any meeting, it did not confirm or deny reports of Nisar joining PTI.
