Ahsan Iqbal shifted to Services Hospital’s ICU after successful surgery

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Monday was shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Services Hospital after successful operation.
X-ray report has confirmed that the bullet pierced into the abdomen after grazing his arm. Doctors have said that the minister is in stable condition.
Iqbal narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during a corner meeting in his constituency in Narowal on Sunday. was immediately rushed to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where he received initial treatment.
The minister was later shifted to Lahore’s Services Hospital on a special helicopter to undergo surgery.
Ahsan Iqbal’s son Ahmed Iqbal told that the bullet was not extracted out of the abdomen after consultation with the doctors and professors.
He said that the minister will be kept in ICU for 24 hours. Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif and other provincial ministers also visited Iqbal at the hospital.
On the other hand, a case against the attack has been registered against the 21-year-old arrested suspect Abid Hussain in Garib Shah police station, Narowal in the presence of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Ishaq.
Sections of attempt to murder, terrorism and possession of illegal firearms have been included in the case.
The Regional Police Officer (RPO) Narowal has also suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) over poor security arrangements.
Various leaders including President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, COAS Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, PTI chief Imran Khan, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, JI ameer Siraj-ul-Haq and others condemned the assassination attempt on the Interior Minister.
