Nasirul Mulk chairs first NSC meeting

The National Security Council (NSC) meeting under the interim PM Nasirul Mulk was held on Friday at the Prime Minister’s House.
The meeting reviewed overall security situation in the country. Interim Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar briefed the meeting about the upcoming meeting of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in Paris, and the measures taken, both administrative and legislative, by the country to meet the requirements.
While reviewing various actions taken towards fulfilling the country’s international responsibilities under the FATF framework, members of the meeting expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far. The committee directed that the progress should be shared with the FATF Secretariat in the upcoming meeting.PM Mulk also shared contents of his telephonic discussion with the US Vice President Mike Pence on June 7.
The meeting was attended by interim Foreign/Defence Minister Abdullah Hussain Haroon, Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar, Interior Minister Muhammad Azam Khan, Law Minister Syed Ali Zafar. The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, and National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua, Director General ISI Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar and senior civil and military officials.
