SC permits Sumaira Malik to contest elections 2018

Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Saturday granted Sumaira Malik permission to contest general elections 2018 from Khushab’s NA-93 constituency.
As per details garnered, Malik will contest elections on Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) ticket. Malik was disqualified over fake degree.
Malik had filed review petition in SC Karachi Registry.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar—during hearing—remarked that no woman can be tagged burglar without investigation. CJP further added that Malik’s picture on educational document has been proven original by forensic report. He made it overtly clear that picture can’t be declared fake without a formal probe into the matter.
Sumaira Malik had contested election from NA-93 back then in 2008. Later in 2013, she was declared ineligible in fake degree case by then CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry.
