Transfer of Al-Azizia, Flagship Cases: IHC Issues Written Verdict

The Islamabad High Court has issued a written verdict of transfer of Al-Azizia and Flagship references against Sharif family to another court on Wednesday.
The court’s orders comprised of four pages citing that the cases of Al-Azizia and Flagship investment have been transferred from accountability court 1 to court 2.
As per the orders, AC-2 will restart the proceeding from the point when it was stopped in AC-1.The justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hassan signed the verdict.
On August 07, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) approved a plea from Nawaz Sharif and his family to order the transfer Al-Azizia and Flagship Investment references to another court.
The decision has been announced by a two-member bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb on Nawaz Sharif’s plea.
Sharif’s legal counsel had filed the appeal requesting the high court to transfer the references from the court of Accountability Judge-I Mohammad Bashir to another accountability court.IHC Accepts Sharif Family Plea To Transfer Azizia, Flagship CaseThe Sharif family had also petitioned against their convictions in the Avenfield reference.
According to media reports, the prosecution said that the defence had earlier requested for a joint testimony of witnesses in all three corruption references against the Sharif family. “The defence counsel cannot cross-examine joint witnesses,” Abbasi said.
Sharif’s legal counsel had filed the appeal requesting the high court to transfer the references from the court of Accountability Judge-I Mohammad Bashir to another accountability court.
The Sharif family had also petitioned against their convictions in the Avenfield reference.
