Jam Kamal To Take Oath As CM Balochistan Today

The newly elected chief minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal will take the oath of his office at Governor House in the on Sunday evening.
The Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai will administer oath from him.
The oath-taking ceremony will be held at 5 pm.
The Balochistan Assembly elected Jam Mir Kamal Khan Alyani, chairman of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) as the 16th leader of the house on Saturday.
The election for the leader of the house was conducted through a secret ballot in which Alyani secured 39 votes against the opposition’s nominee, Mir Younus Aziz Zehri, who secured 20 votes.
At least 59 provincial assembly members exercised their right to vote. Kamal enjoyed the support of Awami National Party, Hazara Democratic Party, Jamhoori Watan Party, Balochistan National Party-Awami and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.
Alyani is the third member of his family to hold the post of Balochistan CM. The BAP chief’s father, Jam Muhammad Yousaf, had held the post from 2002 to 2007, while his grandfather, Jam Mir Ghulam Qadir Khan, had remained chief minister of Balochistan during non-party elections in 1985.
Alyani served as Nazim for district Lasbela during Pervez Musharraf’s regime. In 2013, he was given the position of state minister for petroleum and natural resources in the PML-N government.
Earlier on Thursday, the joint candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo was elected as Balochistan Assembly Speaker and Sardar Babar Musa Khel as the new Deputy Speaker.
Abdul Quddus Bizenjo secured 39 votes, while joint opposition candidate Nawaz Kakar received 20 in the secret balloting process. A total of 59 votes were cast.
