PM approves Pervez Khattak to head committee to probe poll rigging

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday has approved Pervez Khattak as head of the special committee set up to probe the rigging in General Elections 2018 as alleged by opposition. Parvez Khattak holds portfolio of defence minister in PTI lead Government.
The committee comprises of 12 members each from National Assembly, Senate. The government and opposition have submitted their respective members names to NA Speaker Asad Qaiser represent them in equilibrium.
The Speaker will formally announce nominations in the House to be followed by notification to the effect. The probe committee will define the Terms of Reference (TORs).
The formation of probe committee has come into existence in the wake of rigging charges levelled by opposition parties coupled with full throated, persistent demand to investigate the alleged misdoings in recent General Elections.
